After a long day in elementary school , Yoga class will be a welcome break for children to provide much needed mobility with physical asanas, reduce stress, improve focus , concentration and self regulation , greater control and awareness of thoughts and emotions, as well as relaxation at the end of the day. The primary goal of yoga is to introduce the ancient Vedic science of an integrated holistic practice of body, breath, mind, emotions, and spirituality. The goal of bringing yoga into the AUM school curriculum is to cultivate such a holistic practice from a young age. 
Yoga asana goals: By the end of the first season, students will learn Surya Namaskar, standing, and seated asanas, should be able to effectively do loosening practices by themselves, know the Sanskrit names of the poses, and improve their balance.
